Food safe aluminum (AlSi10Mg) is a lightweight aluminum-silicon-magnesium alloy with good thermal conductivity and high strength as built.
Aluminum can release into acidic and salty foods: European guidance sets a release limit of 5 mg/kg and advises keeping uncoated aluminum away from them, so suitability depends on the coating and on migration testing; certifications should be confirmed according to intended use. Strength falls as temperature rises.
Food safe aluminum is a good option for lightweight, heat-conducting food-processing parts and tooling.
