About

PEEK (polyether ether ketone) is one of the highest-performing thermoplastics available for FDM printing, with a glass transition temperature around 143 °C and a melting point above 334 °C – well beyond ABS, PC, or nylon composites.

Unlike many reinforced composites, PEEK combines high strength and stiffness with genuinely good impact resistance and wear resistance, rather than trading one for the other. It offers outstanding resistance to acids, bases, and organic solvents, is inherently flame retardant with very low smoke generation, and is biocompatible enough for use in medical implants and surgical instruments. These properties come at a significant cost premium over standard engineering plastics.

PEEK suits aerospace components, medical devices, and industrial parts like bearings, seals, and gears that need to perform reliably in extreme conditions.
