About

Zamak 8 (ZnAl8Cu1, also called ZA-8) contains roughly 8.4% aluminum, about double the Zamak 3 and 5 level, which gives it improved strength, hardness, and creep resistance over most Zamak grades, with only Zamak 2 performing similarly. It's also slightly lighter, with a density near 6.3 g/cm³, and takes decorative finishing and plating well.

Like other zinc alloys, its recommended maximum mechanical service temperature is only about 100 °C.

Zamak 8 is a good option for decorative parts and components that carry sustained load.
