About

Super-Invar (4J32) is a Fe-Ni-Co alloy with an even lower coefficient of thermal expansion than standard Invar 36, though this ultra-low expansion only holds within a limited range (roughly -60 °C to +80 °C). It has good plasticity and machinability similar to austenitic alloys, but poor thermal conductivity, and its composition must be tightly controlled or expansion performance degrades.

Super-Invar is suitable for precision instruments, resonant cavities, standard length scales, and astronomical instrument frames.
