About

S355J2 (1.0577) is a non-alloy structural steel under EN 10025-2, the European equivalent to ASTM A572 Grade 50.

Compared to S235JR, it offers roughly 51% higher yield strength, allowing smaller cross-sections for the same load, and its "J2" designation guarantees impact toughness of 27J at -20 °C. It retains good weldability, though slightly reduced versus lower-carbon S235JR.

This steel is suitable for bridges, cranes, heavy machinery frames, and structural components exposed to low temperatures or higher loads.
