About

S235JR (1.0038) is a non-alloy structural steel under EN 10025-2, the European equivalent to ASTM A36.

Its low carbon content (under 0.19%) gives it excellent weldability and formability, and its impact toughness is guaranteed at 27J at room temperature (+20 °C).

It offers only moderate strength compared to higher grades like S355J2, so it isn't the right choice for structural applications needing higher load capacity or cold-weather toughness.

It's a good material choice for general fabrication, brackets, frames, and welded structural components at standard temperatures.
