About

CNC machined Steel 4140PH is a chromium-molybdenum alloy steel supplied in a pre-hardened condition, offering high strength, excellent toughness, and improved wear resistance without the need for post-machining heat treatment. This makes it especially well suited for precision components that require reliable mechanical performance while maintaining dimensional stability.

The material’s pre-hardened state allows it to retain strength and durability while reducing the risk of distortion or dimensional changes that can occur during heat treatment.

Compared to standard annealed alloy steels, Steel 4140PH provides greater hardness and wear resistance immediately after machining, making it suitable for components exposed to mechanical stress, friction, or repeated loading. While its corrosion resistance is limited, protective finishes such as plating, coating, or oiling may be applied when environmental protection is required.
