Super Duplex Stainless Steel 2507 offers the highest corrosion resistance and strength in the duplex family, as it's built for extreme chloride exposure like offshore and desalination equipment.
2507 is a super duplex stainless steel with even higher chromium, molybdenum, and nitrogen than 2205, giving it a PREN above 40 – among the best pitting and crevice corrosion resistance of any commercially available stainless steel – plus yield strength roughly double standard austenitic grades.
It resists chloride stress corrosion cracking exceptionally well, even in seawater. Like other duplex grades, it's limited to continuous service below about 300 °C and needs higher forming forces than austenitic steels.
It is ideal for offshore platforms, desalination equipment, and severe chemical processing environments.
