About

CNC machined Stainless Steel 18-8 is a general-purpose austenitic stainless steel known for its excellent corrosion resistance, good mechanical strength, and reliable performance across a wide range of industrial and commercial applications. The designation “18-8” refers to its approximate composition of 18% chromium and 8% nickel, which provides strong resistance to oxidation, moisture, and many mild chemicals.

18-8 stainless steel offers a strong balance of corrosion resistance, formability, and toughness, maintaining mechanical properties across a wide temperature range and resisting rust in humid or wet environments. It is non-magnetic in its annealed state and performs well in food processing, medical, marine, and general industrial settings.

Typical applications include fasteners, brackets, housings, fittings, shafts, enclosures, and structural components that require long-term reliability and environmental resistance. For enhanced surface finish or additional corrosion protection, parts may be further processed through polishing, passivation, or coating.
