About

1.2083 (X40Cr14) is a chromium-alloyed stainless plastic mold steel. It's supplied annealed for machining and can be hardened afterward for mold service, offering good polishability suited to cosmetic mold surfaces.

Stainless mold steel 420 is suited to plastic injection molds, especially for corrosive plastics or humid production environments where standard tool steel would rust.
