About

1J36 is a nickel-iron soft magnetic alloy with about 36% nickel, the same base chemistry as Invar 36 (4J36) but specified for magnetic performance rather than low thermal expansion.

Its Curie point is only about 230 °C (versus about 500 °C for 1J50), so it stops being magnetic above roughly that temperature.

1J36 is a good option for electromagnetic components that must work in humid, salt-spray, or hydrazine environments.
