About

2.4858 (Alloy 825 or Incoloy 825) is a nickel-iron-chromium alloy stabilized with titanium. The nickel resists chloride stress corrosion cracking, molybdenum and copper resist reducing acids like sulfuric and phosphoric, chromium resists oxidizing acids like nitric, and the titanium guards against intergranular corrosion after welding.

Pitting and crevice resistance is satisfactory but well below Alloy 625, and annealed strength is moderate.

Nickel Alloy 2.4858 is well suited to acid production, pickling equipment, and pollution-control parts.
