About

2.4851 (Alloy 601 or Inconel 601) is a nickel-chromium-iron alloy that forms a tight, spall-resistant oxide layer, giving outstanding resistance to oxidation up to 1,200 °C in air and good resistance to carburizing conditions.

Annealed bar is ductile, but it can't be hardened by heat treatment, and it should be heated in low-sulfur environments.

Nickel Alloy 2.4851 is commonly used for heat-treatment trays and baskets, radiant tubes, furnace belts, and waste-incinerator components.
