About

2.4602 (Alloy 22 or Hastelloy C-22) is a nickel-chromium-molybdenum-tungsten alloy with exceptional resistance to both oxidizing and reducing media, including wet chlorine, ferric chloride, and nitric-acid mixtures, and outstanding resistance to pitting, crevice corrosion, and stress corrosion cracking.

Annealed tensile strength is at least 690 MPa with high ductility, but it work-hardens markedly more than most austenitic stainless steels, so machining is slow.

Nickel alloy 2.4602 is a strong choice for chemical processing, pulp bleaching, and sour-gas components.
