Copper C18200 (Chromium Copper) combines high electrical conductivity with good strength retention at elevated temperatures. This makes it a strong choice for resistance welding equipment and high-current electrical components.
C18200 adds a small amount of chromium (about 0.9%) to copper, achieving 80% IACS conductivity alongside good deformation resistance at high temperatures. This is a different trade-off point than C15000, with somewhat lower conductivity but comparable strength.
It has excellent cold workability and good hot workability, with good to excellent corrosion resistance.
Copper C18200 is a suitable material for resistance welding electrodes, seam welding wheels, switch gear, electrode holder jaws, cable connectors, and circuit breaker parts that need sustained current-carrying capacity under repeated thermal stress.
