Copper C15000 is a zirconium copper alloy that retains nearly all of pure copper's exceptional electrical conductivity while offering improved strength and resistance to softening at elevated temperatures.
C15000 adds a small amount of zirconium (0.10–0.20%) to copper, forming fine precipitates that improve strength and high-temperature softening resistance with only a minor sacrifice to conductivity. It retains 93% IACS, close to pure copper's 100%. This makes it a strong choice where both high conductivity and resistance to deformation under sustained heat and current are needed.
Copper C15000 is a goo option for resistance welding electrodes, high-temperature electrical contacts, and current-carrying components exposed to repeated thermal cycling.
