Copper C14500, also known as tellurium copper, is copper with a small tellurium addition. It offers high electrical and thermal conductivity with mechanical properties similar to pure copper, and is a common choice for machined copper parts.
Copper C14500 (tellurium copper) is copper with 0.40–0.70% tellurium and a trace of phosphorus. The tellurium makes it far easier to machine than pure copper, while its electrical and thermal conductivity stay high.
Its tensile strength is moderately low compared with other wrought coppers, and it resists hydrogen embrittlement.
Typical parts include electrical connectors, switch and motor parts, transformer and circuit-breaker terminals, welding torch and soldering tips, and sprinkler heads.
