CNC machined Aluminum MIC-6 produces dimensionally stable, flat, and precise parts with a clean machined surface. It is ideal for tooling plates, fixtures, and structural components where accuracy and stability are critical.
Aluminum MIC-6 is a cast, stress-relieved aluminum alloy specifically designed for applications that require exceptional dimensional stability and flatness. Because internal stresses are minimized during production, MIC-6 resists warping and distortion during machining, making it one of the most reliable aluminum grades for precision components and large, machined plates.
The material holds tight tolerances consistently, maintains accurate geometry, and delivers excellent flatness over large surfaces.
MIC-6 is commonly used for machine bases, mounting plates, test fixtures, robotics components, and metrology tooling, where stability and repeatability are more important than maximum strength. While it machines cleanly and predictably, its mechanical strength is lower than high-strength alloys like 2024 or 7050, making it better suited for precision and stability rather than heavily loaded structural parts.
For applications exposed to outdoor or humid environments, additional protection such as anodizing or coating is recommended, as its corrosion resistance is moderate. Aluminum MIC-6 is best suited for high-precision, low-distortion parts where dimensional reliability matters more than ultimate strength or cosmetic appearance.
