About

CNC machined Aluminum 7050 is a premium, high-strength aerospace-grade aluminum alloy that delivers exceptional mechanical performance while remaining relatively lightweight and machinable.

The material offers very high tensile strength, outstanding fatigue resistance, and good fracture toughness, making it one of the best-performing aluminum alloys for load-bearing and safety-critical components. Compared to more common grades like 6061 or 5083, 7050 provides significantly superior structural capability while still allowing tight tolerances, sharp features, and reliable repeatability in machining.

Typical applications include aerospace components, high-performance mechanical parts, structural brackets, precision fixtures, and heavily stressed machine elements. It is especially valued in industries where strength-to-weight ratio and long-term durability under cyclic loads are critical.

In its raw as-machined condition, Aluminum 7050 has limited corrosion resistance compared to some other aluminum alloys, so parts intended for outdoor, marine, or humid environments are often anodized, coated, or painted for protection. Overall, CNC machined Aluminum 7050 is best suited for high-performance, structurally demanding parts where mechanical strength and reliability are prioritized over cosmetic appearance.
