Aluminum 5005 is a non-heat-treatable aluminum-magnesium alloy (about 0.8% Mg) valued above all for anodizing quality – it gives a more consistent, defect-free finish than 3003 or 6061, making it preferred for visible architectural and decorative parts. Its corrosion resistance is good, including marine service in the H116/H321 tempers.

Aluminum 5005 is suitable for architectural trim, electronics enclosures, and decorative panels where anodized appearance matters most.
