AISI 8620H

CNC

AISI 8620H is a low-carbon alloy steel ideal for case hardening. It combines high surface wear resistance with a tough, ductile core, making it well-suited for gears, shafts, and high-stress parts.

About

AISI 8620H is a low-carbon, nickel-chromium-molybdenum alloy steel, widely used for its excellent case hardening characteristics. Its composition provides an optimal balance of surface wear resistance and core toughness after carburization or other surface-hardening processes. The “H” suffix denotes enhanced hardenability, making it well-suited for parts requiring a hard exterior and a ductile, fatigue-resistant core. 8620H offers good machinability in both annealed and heat-treated conditions, supporting precision manufacturing of high-stress components such as gears, shafts, and bushings. It is particularly favored in applications where surface durability must be combined with structural resilience.
