About

4J50 (FeNi50, also called Vacovit 500 or Nilo 51) is a nickel-iron alloy whose thermal expansion coefficient and Curie point run higher than lower-nickel grades like 4J42, which makes it suited to soft glass and ceramic sealing rather than hard borosilicate glass. It also shows soft-magnetic behavior, with low coercivity and useful permeability.

This is a material that's suitable for precision impedance diaphragms, reed relays, and soft-glass-sealed vacuum components.
