Acetal (Delrin)

CNC

Stiff, low-friction thermoplastic with excellent machinability, chemical resistance, and dimensional stability. Common in gears, bushings, and precision moving parts.

About

Acetal, also known by the brand name Delrin, is a high-performance engineering thermoplastic known for its excellent dimensional stability, low friction, and high stiffness. It machines cleanly with tight tolerances, making it ideal for precision parts. Acetal exhibits good fatigue and wear resistance, making it well-suited for applications involving sliding motion, such as bushings, gears, and bearings. It resists moisture, solvents, and a range of chemicals, while maintaining mechanical integrity in both dry and humid environments. Though not UV stable or flame retardant by default, Acetal is widely used in automotive, industrial, and consumer product applications requiring durability, machinability, and chemical resistance.
